We love our friends

Since we started streaming our new album on our Myspace profile (and Myspace Sweden were kind enough to promote it on their front page, thanks!!), friend requests have been pouring in. We really appreciate it, it's these things that keeps us going, knowing that there are people out there who care about our music.
It will take some time to answer all the requests, since we try to answer all your kind comments as well, but we're working on it, and all you people with Myspace profiles know how quick and convenient the system is for doing that kind of thing. Yeah, right.

Extreme blog makeover

Well, maybe not that extreme. But as you can see, this blog is now a bit more colourful. The yellow-brown-black-white pattern is taken from a fabric called Pythagoras, designed in 1952 by Sven Markelius, which will be featured prominently on the album cover. You can read more about the fabric in an earlier post.

Don't forget: Facts and Fabrications is out on May 27th, and the release gig is on May 30th at Sticky Fingers in Gothenburg.

Intermission...

I hate to repeat an old post, but for those of you who are already sick of the ESC, or simply just avoid it altogether, here's the song that probably is the best ESC contribution ever:

Just a little Saturday entertainment for y'all. This week we'll out some more info about the remix competition, and (as soon as we're allowed) a fantastic gig later in the summer.

Get ready to remix

A while back we mentioned a contest to remix a song by fellow Wonderlander Emmon. It turned out to be a wild success, with a lot of great contributions. When the dust had settled, the one participant left standing was Australian act Parralox. You can hear their remix here: http://www.releasemagazine.net

Well, of course this means that you'll have to get a chance to remix an SFB song as well. We mentioned way back that we had something cooking, and now - to coincide with the album release - it's time to get it going. In collaboration with Songbox, we will give you a shot at remixing our single Magical Machines.

The competition will be presented on Songbox shortly, and will of course be announced here on the blog and in our newsletter as well. Btw, if you haven't signed up for the newsletter yet, now is the time to do it. Head over to Swedishforbeginners.net and sign up at the bottom of the page.

Win tickets to the release party!

Thanks to the great folks at Spotify, you can get tickets for free to the SFB release party on May 30th! Just head on over to the Spotify blog and leave a comment, and they will select the lucky winner. Read more about the details in their blog entry.

And just in case you're wondering: yes, our album will be available on Spotify very soon. :)
In the meantime, check out my favourite song on Spotify at the moment: Of Wonder and Certainty (For Lou Reed) from the album The Dreamers by John Zorn.
