From one gig to another

Thanks to all of you who showed up for our gig at Storan this Saturday. The gig was great, the audience were great and the venue was boiling, literary! :)

Now SFB and the rest of the Wonderland Records crew is calibrating our GPS navigators for Arvikafestivalen on 4th of July. It will be a whole night with only artists from our record label Wonderland performing at "Lyran", such as Thermostatic, Emmon and Arvid.

Hope to see you there!

Cheers,
SFB

Today's swedish for beginners: "back stage party" = back stage party :)

Remix comp deadline: 4th of July

Sorry, I got the dates screwed up. The deadline for the remix competition is the 4th of July. Actually the same day that we play at Arvikafestivalen.

Good luck with the remixes!

A quick summary

Wrapping up the week with a quick summary of all the things going on in the SFB universe at the moment:

- Wonderland Pre-festival Season Party, Storan, Gothenburg, June 27th. SFB, Thermostatic and Mars TV!
- Songbox/Wonderland remix competition. Remix Magical Machines and get your remix officially released by Wonderland Records.
- Facts and Fabrications (our first album) is available on Spotify, Wonderland webshop, Klicktrack, CDON, and other good music stores. Not iTunes yet, though, which is getting slightly annoying... *gaahh!* We'll let you Mac-heads know when it's up there.
- We have t-shirts! Get them at one of our gigs, or e-mail us at info@swedishforbeginners.net if you want one. They're 100 SEK (€10), which is a steal.

Summer is here, and summer is for dancing. You know what album to dance to this summer. ;)

Take care!

Extended deadline for the remix contest

We've realized that we've put a bit of a tight deadline on the remix contest. The new deadline is June 30th. Those of you who've already submitted your entries get a chance to polish the details, while the rest of you still have time to get your stuff together.

A brief recap: the contest is to remix Magical Machines, and is arranged by Songbox, registration and participation is free. The winner will get the remix officially released by Wonderland Records on Spotify, iTunes and Klicktrack, along with some SFB-goodies (which of course includes our brand new album Facts and Fabrications).

As always, leave a comment or drop us a line if you have any questions. Looking forward to your remixes!

Another Gothenburg gig coming up shortly

Wonderland Records are hosting a sort of Arvika warm-up event at Storan in Gothenburg on the 27th of June. We'll play there, and so will Thermostatic, and also Mars TV, I believe. I'll get some more details out here on the blog in the next few days. Until then, book your calendar for the 27th!

Which one is your favourite SFB song?

Let us know which SFB song is your favourite by voting here on the blog. The poll is on the right hand side, just scroll down a bit. Make your voice heard, this is even more important than voting for the European Parliament, right?

Well, actually, the most important thing is to NOT vote for any extremist right-wing racist party. Stay away from the conservative religious wingnuts as well.

But a vote for your favourite song would be nice, nonetheless.

#1 on Listan - again

Thanks folks! Your votes once again put SFB firmly in the #1 spot on Swedish Radio P4 Kalmar's hitlist "Listan". This time, as you know, it's Happy Factory that made it to the top, earlier this year it was Magical Machines. The good thing is that this was the last Listan before the summer, which means that we'll remain as number one for a looong time. :D

Thanks for supporting us, you know we appreciate it!

Swedish for Beginners to Arvika

As of today it's official: SFB are playing at the Arvika festival in Sweden on July 4th. This year's line-up include - in case you didn't already know - Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, Röyksopp, Korn, and a bunch of other really great bands. (Thomas, our keyboard player, is especially happy since he's the biggest DM-fan on Hisingen island.)

You can read more about these good news over at the festival's web site. (In Swedish, but there's info in English as well.) Why not leave a comment over there, to let them know that you're happy that they've booked your favourite Swedish for Beginners? ;)

Are you going there? Let us know!

Buy our album

After two days of recovering from the release party for our debut album Facts and Fabrications, it's back to the blog. Thanks to all who showed up! We hope you enjoyed it, we sure did, even if the DJ robbed you of an encore... We also hope you enjoyed hearing about that little festival that we're going to play at later this summer. Hope to see you there. More on that to come, for those of you who couldn't make it.

Now that the release party is over and done with, you are very welcome to pick up a copy of the album, digital or plastic, whichever you prefer. Yeah, we know that the main reason for paying for music in these Jolly Roger-waving days is to kindly support the artists, but that's still a pretty good reason, don't you think?

Here are some links for your convenience. Oh, and don't forget that your friends may want to buy a copy of their own as well. ;)
